Nottingham Maternity Scandal: Inquiry hears of ‘babies let down’ and ‘ avoidable harm’

The Nottingham maternity scandal Inquiry has heard of ‘avoidable harm’ and ‘babies let down’ at the trust’s hospitals.

The inquiry is investigating the circumstances which led to the deaths of at least 46 babies during a five-year period at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust between 2010 and 2017.

Inquiry chair, Jenny Gray, opened the second week of evidence saying there was ‘no excuse’ for the baby deaths and ‘women were failed’ by those who mattered most to them.
