Google Search Console: How to use Analytics API to get more data

Google Search Console, previously known as Google Webmaster Tool, tracks website performance on search. The service is offered for free by Google and it contains many helpful data, such as:

– Total clicks, impressions, and average position of a website on Google Search
– Keywords that people used to find a website on Google Search
– Most linked pages on a website etc.

Till recently, to take the data out of Google Search Console (GSC) was only possible by either manually downloading a small subset of it or by using the Google Search Console API through programming.

In the last months, Google released an Analytics API for Google Search Console. This new API allows to query a lot more data than what was available before. The data can also be queried at a more granular level.
