NEW DELHI: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Monday said that materielity of child care leaves will be applicable to women soldiers of all ranks, enabling them to take a break from service for up to 24 months at different stages of motherhood. Child care leave can now be availed by all women officers including those in command positions, Singh said in a series of tweets. The move, he said, is aimed at ensuring a conducive work environment for women in the armed forces and to further gender equality in the services. .
